Engineer Requirements Summary

Professional Engineers, Surveyors, and Architects can conveniently meet their continuing education requirements with the CEU Leaf online PDH system.

PDH Hours Required

30 hours, biennial

Renewal Date(s)

Renewal deadlines are at midnight CST based on the professionals discipline and the first letter of their last name. The year is dictated by the last name and it is even years if the last name begins with A through L, and odd years if the last name starts with M through Z. The day/month is based on the profession as follows: a) March 31st for Surveyors; b) June 30th for Architects; c) April 30th for Professional Engineers; d) June 30th for Geologists; and, e) December 31st for Landscape Architects.

The Kansas State Board of Technical Professions does not pre-approve courses or providers.

Continuing Education Renewal Notes:

Renewals occur online at the state website as long as a) the license is not more than 60 days past its expiration; b) you are not undergoing an audit; c) you have been convicted of a felony; or, d) you have had disciplinary action taken by any licensing Board. The online system accepts all major credit cards. If renewing multiple licenses, at least 20 hours must be completed for each profession.

What PDH Subjects Qualify:

Continuing education activities may be any activity that enhances a licensee's level of technical, professional, managerial, or ethical competence. It must have a definable purpose and objective, be conducted by a qualified person, and the licensee must retain a record of registration and attendance. CEU Leaf courses comply.

What Does Not Qualify:

There is no explicit non-qualifying activities that are defined by the Board.
